Jordan Tupper, a Maine native,
settled in the Nashville area in
2006. Jordan grew up active in
school music programs, and was
recognized for his achievements in
both band and choir. He was
selected to participate in the
district, all-state and all-eastern
vocal ensembles. Jordan also was
the recipient of several music
scholarships and awards at the
conclusion of his time at Yarmouth
High School.
Following high school,
Jordan attended Elon University, in
Elon, North Carolina, as the
recipient of the Alyse Smith Cooper
scholarship. There, he performed in
“The Fire of the Carolinas”
(Marching Band) Wind Ensemble, Jazz
Ensemble, Small Group Jazz
Ensembles, Pep Band, Elan (Vocal
Jazz), Chorale, and Camerata.
(Chamber Singers) Jordan was
recognized with leadership positions
in these groups and was honored with
the awarding of the prestigious
Presser Award and Scholarship.
Jordan was also the recipient of the
Directors Award as a member of the
Fire of the Carolina’s Marching
Band. While at Elon, Jordan served
as a paid musician for two local
congregations on a weekly basis, the
First Christian United Church of
Christ and Holy Comforter Episcopal
Church.
Following his graduation from Elon
with a bachelor’s degree, double
majoring in Music and Religious
Studies, Jordan began graduate
studies at Lancaster Theological
Seminary in Lancaster, PA. While
there, he continued performing
music, and was accepted in the
Lancaster Chamber Singers, under Dr.
Jay Risser.
Jordan has been fortunate to study
under fantastic teachers and music
educators. He has studied with Dr.
Bruce Fithian, Dr. Kenneth Lee, Dr.
Stephen Futrell, Dr. Thomas Erdmann,
Tony Sawyer, Rick Dustin, Jon
Metzger, Dr. Charles Hogan and many
more.
Jordan considers himself very lucky
to be married to his beautiful
bride, Amanda, who puts up with far
too much gear and far too many long
hours. They live among the horse
farms in Pleasant View, TN with
their obnoxious, but very cute dog,
Sebastian.
